Flutter Ponies
Example photograph right shows some of the first editions of Flutters (with their wings still intact); they all have flower symbols. Most that you find will be missing the wings.

Flower symbols Pictured right and below are all examples of ponies with flower symbols. The symbol below is actually a honeysuckle, though it is often called a snowflake and other things.
Wind Mill symbol
Flamingo symbol
Cloud (blowing wind; purple body, aqua hair)
Blue heart-shaped chimes (pink body, blue hair). See example below.
Wrapped candies (purple body, chartreuse hair).
Sleeping cat symbol (blue body, pink hair).
Deep pink body and white hair; Glittery silver stars (symbol may have rubbed slightly or nearly off) (Mail order only).

Sea Ponies

::Adults:: Adults are ~6 inches tall::Babies:: Babies are ~4 inches tall ::Mermaids:: Mermaids are 3 inches tall and have arms (no other Sea Ponies have arms).
Telling the difference in babies and adults can often be difficult if you do not know how to spot the differences. Adults are larger, have slightly larger noses and less childlike faces. Examples of both are shown below.

Mermaids: There are three Baby Fancy Mermaid Ponies. Mermaids are 3 inches tall and have fish tails instead of sea horse style bodies. They have a heart shaped medallion on the chest and two arms outstretched.

Sweetheart Sister Ponies

Sweetheart Sisters with an earring and without an earring are virtually identical in body mold. The only way to tell them apart is to check for an earring or earring hole. Each has think eyelashes and thin bodies, unlike standard adult ponies.

Sweetheart Sister with an earring (or a hole where an earring would be):

Flower bouquet symbols or if your symbol matches symbol on right see link directly below:
Flower bouquet symbol (yellow body, teal hair; symbol is a pink bouquet with pink hearts surrounding. This is similar to one of the versions above, but belongs to the Prom Queen Sweetheart Sisters).
Violin, gloves, or tiara or crown symbol (See Prom Queen Sweetheart Sisters).
Glittery symbol covering body.

1-2 Inch Playset animals:

Dolls

Molly and Megan are the two official Hasbro My Little Pony dolls. Other dolls are often confused with My Little Pony dolls.

Molly: Nude female figure is childlike in appearance no breasts; she can be distinguished from Megan by this feature. Originally has two ponytails or pigtails, sweet childlike face, and blue eyes. Original outfit includes a pink dress and rainbow colored tights.
Megan: Nude female figure has small molded breasts. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. There are several versions of Megan; you may be able to distinguish your version by the clothes that she is wearing. 1st Version (most common), wearing a simple white and pink dress (no pattern like the third version below). See example right. 2nd Version, purple floral dress. 3rd version, has a more cartoon-like face and proportionally larger head to body ratio. She wears a white and pink dress with a repeating pattern of hearts and dots. U. K. and European Version, white dress with multicolored bows printed on it.
