These ponies were sold exclusively in Germany and
Austria. To see both versions of Nightlight and Raindrop, and
Starshine and Skydancer, click on the Germany link.
Night Light (earth Pony) is blue with a white crescent moon and two
yellow stars. She has sea
foam/aqua green, aqua blue, chartreuse, coral
hair (starting from the forehead going back). There are two versions of Nightlight. Pictured
below is the
large symbol version, there is also a smaller symbol version (close up
pictured right). Her German name is Nachtlicht. She is in
Applejack's pose.
Raindrop (earth Pony) is bright pink with a white rain cloud with a
yellow sun underneath. She has green,
blue, pink, coral hair (starting
from forehead going back). Her German name is Regentropfen. She is in
Applejack's pose.
Skydancer (earth pony) is yellow with glittery green birds, and is in Pose's pose.
She has green, blue, pink, coral hair (starting from forehead going back).
Her American version is a Pegasus.
The American versions came out in Year 2.
Her German name is Himmelstänzer. She is in Posey's pose.

Starshine (Pegasus) is white with a gold sun as her symbol. She has
green, blue, pink, coral hair (starting from forehead going back). She is
in Heart Throb's pose instead of her original pose with her head forward and
foreleg lifted. The American versions came out in Year
2. Her German name is Sternenglanz. She is in Heart
Throb's pose.
There are two variations of her, one with a painted symbol
(above) and one with a metallic symbol.
Sea Ponies (U. K. and European)
Sea Ponies were special seahorse type ponies, with the
standard My Little
Pony head shape. Each had a ball type weight in it to balance the body and
make it actually float in the water. There is a small round hole behind
one of the ears to release water (close up pictured right). Each came with
a special display shell, which had suckers that will attach to your bathtub.
Also each came with two combs and a ribbon.
Each Sea Pony has comb-able hair, with a mane much like
that of any
regular pony. These versions have a forelock. They also have colored
fin tips that match their hair color.
The copyright date on Sea Ponies is on the bottom side of the pony, on the tail area (close up pictured right). All of these versions have straight hair (unlike those released the next year) and clam shells.
These ponies were sold in 1985 in the U. K. and Europe. Two of them have similar U. S. counterparts, however, the set of three is unique. Each has unique style and accessories. There are also Italian variations of these Sea Ponies, which have thick eye lines. Each of the U. K. ponies came with a clam shell, shell comb and original comb and a ribbon. Some U. S. versions came with a swirling conch shell and the U. S. versions came with a different comb.
There are two sets of U. S. versions of Sea Ponies in addition to these U. K. versions, the first edition Sea Ponies and second edition Sea Ponies. There are baby Sea Ponies as well, including some U. K. only Baby Sea Ponies.

Sea Spray is yellow with pink hair and comes with a purple shell.
The U. S. Sea Pony High Tide is similar to her, but they are different
ponies. I have included a photograph of each for comparison. U. K.
Sea Spray has her head pointing in a forward position and U. S. High Tide has
her head pointed up. Some call this a variation or some say it's a totally
different pony.
Surf Dancer is light blue with yellow hair and comes with a pink shell.

There is no U. S. comparative of the Sea Pony. |
Wave Breaker is pink with blue hair and comes with a yellow shell.
She looks the same as American Wave Dancer made in Year
2 with a different color shell. The set comparison shows them with
different colors, however, this is just due to the U. K. version's fading.
They are essentially the same colors.
Sea
Ponies (Italian)
Italian Sea Ponies have distinct eyes that distinguish them from regular
Sea Ponies. They
have note-able
eyes with thick lash lines. They seem to all have the blue Italian eye
characteristic. I believe the pony pictured below is also Italian
(but I have no idea who she is). The body size is also smaller
than the standard U. S. versions and they have Italy etched into the bottom
of tail on their bodies.
As you will note, the Italian versions are
very similar to the U. K versions above, even with accessories and packaging.

Tootsie
(Italy and UK; white) (earth Pony) is white (instead of yellow) with blue hair
and her symbol is pink lollipops. She has blue eyes.
There are two versions of white Tootsie,
Hong Kong and Italian. The only differences that I can spot is that one has
Hong Kong on the hoof and the other has Italy stamped on the hoof. Hong Kong
version was sold in the UK and probably other places as well. I believe the
HK version is pictured right; the Italian version comes with a blue flower brush.
The regular U. S. version is green; this version was also sold abroad.
