These ponies are mail order ponies; there were a total of four.  They were available in the United Kingdom through Activity Club, equivalent to the U. S. Fan Clubs. Baby Pony--1989, Baby Bridesmaid--1990.  Each are listed in their individual year.  See the Fan and Activity Club section for more information.

Baby Fun 'n Games came with a special badge (and other Activity Club items).  The badge pictures her and the My Little Pony logo.

There are many theories as to how she was sold.  She was available through Issue 2 of the Club magazine (comic) in 1991, she was 15 Horseshoe points.  *Thanks to Lesley for the information*  Some people also received her in 1992 from Partners Stationary Store (in a bag, not on card or in box).  She is also nicknamed Baby Valentine.

Cookery Ponies (Pastelero)

The Cookery Ponies were for cooking earth ponies.  Each Cookery Pony has a sweet bakery item on her rear.  Two of them share Tootsie's pose and the other two have varying poses.  Each also comes with a special pink apron.  A special accessory was also made to use with the cookery ponies, the Kitchen.  On Spanish cards they are Pasteleros, which the Spanish kitchen is called the Pasteleria.

These are commonly confused with Sweetberry Ponies, some have very similar characteristics.  The most common confusion up is probably between Sweetberry Pony Boysenberry Pie (U. K. Blackberry Pie) and Cookery Pony Nice 'n Spicy.  Both are purple with with pie symbols.

Other sweet smelling ponies include:  Sweetberry Ponies (Year 6), Sundae Best Ponies (similar but they have upraised symbols), Soda Sippin' Ponies (sweet smelling ponies sold in Year 10), Perfume Puff Ponies (smell like perfume, not sweets),  Sweet Scoops and charm (mail order pony).

Romance Ponies

Thanks to Jennifer Rhinebeck for use of this photograph.

The Romance Ponies were ponies that represented the various symbols of love.  Following in the style of other adults from this year, they were earth ponies, each having a different pose.  They retained a color scheme of three basic colors: pink, purple, and white, with varying shades from dark pink to periwinkle.  However, each pony retained a unique color scheme.  They came with a long comb and a ribbon, and some packages came with flat stickers mimicking that pony's symbol.

Other love related ponies:  Valentine's Day Twins (both babies).

Love-in-a-Mist (earth pony) is pink with purple hair and a  red heart with an purple arrow going and tiny red hearts around it.  She is in Tootsie's pose and has lavender eyes.

Love Letter (earth pony) is white with pink hair and a pink heart-shaped box and purple ribbon wrapped around it.  She is in Quacker's pose and has periwinkle eyes.

Love Story (earth pony) is purple with pink hair and a bouquet of red roses.  She has purple eyes and is standing in Sugarberry's pose.

Love Token (earth pony) is pink with white hair and a diamond ring and a gold band intertwined.  She is in Up, Up and Away's pose and has pale blue eyes.
