1992-1993 International My Little
Ponies (A-E)

7 Characters from "My
Little Pony Tales"
The ponies based on the "My Little Pony
Tales" series are called the Seven Characters on the U. K. inserts.
These seven female ponies are familiar to many collectors; they were the
stars of a My Little Pony television series "My Little Pony Tales." There were three other characters,
all being male, that were never produced. Ironically, even though the
show aired in the U. S., the characters were not available in the United States.
Several of these will be similar to many other International ponies that you
see; I have listed closely related ponies.
These were sold in the U. K. and throughout Europe* (See the main International page for information on inclusions and exclusions for this).
I need
a good group photograph of these if anyone has all seven. If you would like
to contribute, just send it in by email.

Bon Bon (earth pony) is yellow with purple hair and a wrapped pink
and blue candy surrounded by dots. She stands in Parasol's pose
and has purple eyes. There is also a Dutch variant of Bon Bon that is lavender with pink hair.
Bright Eyes (earth pony) is pale blue with orange hair and has a pink
pen and notebook as her symbol. She has a red open book comb. She stands
in Tootsie's pose and has yellow eyes. There is also a Dutch variant of Bright Eyes that is dark blue with blue hair. Also, in the
U. S. another Bright Eyes was sold. However, this version is nothing like
the version sold in Europe, being a Twinkle
Eyes Pony.

Clover (earth pony) is lavender with pink hair and a green four-leaf
clover. She stands in Up, Up, and Away's pose and has pink eyes.
Related ponies: Minty
(Collector Pony) and Baby
Lucky Leaf (Baby Ponies and Pretty Pals). Both of these U. S. ponies
have clover symbols.

Melody (earth pony) is pink with blue hair and her symbol is a yellow
microphone with blue notes and stars. There is also a Dutch variant of Melody with a white body and pink hair. There is also a
Rollerskates Pony named Melody with a microphone symbol and with Melody's
colors. She has molded roller skates on her hooves.
Patch (earth pony) is peachy pink with pink hair and has a pink and blue
patch. She stands in Sugarberry's pose and has green eyes.

Starlight (earth pony) is pink with yellow hair and a yellow star with
small blue stars trailing behind it. She stands in Posey's pose and has blue
eyes. There is also a Dutch variant of Starlight that is white with blue hair. There is also a very
similar Hair-Do pony named Starlight. The Hair-Do version has the same basic color scheme,
but has a pearlized body, pink stripe in her mane, and molded beads.

Sweetheart (earth pony) is white with pink hair with one pink heart and
three little hearts surrounding it. She stands in Parasol's shy pose.
She stands in Parasol's pose and has purple eyes. There is also a Dutch variant of Sweetheart that is all purple. Sweetheart may also resemble
the Nurse Ponies,
being in similar poses and having heart symbols.

their individual accessories.
These German exclusive babies are difficult to find. They are
named Nesthackchen Baby Ponies in German, and often nicknamed Neste Babies for
short. They often end up with a variety of odd spellings because
the names are difficult for people who aren't German (or that speak Germanic
languages). I have done my best to make sure each spelling is correct as possible.
The insert at the right shows them with their actual accessories. However, the insert does not show them in the correct poses. See the pictures below for actual poses.
Another odd thing about these babies is that they came with an odd array of accessories; they were not all the standard accessories. Each came with a least one item that was not common with most other baby ponies. Baby Schlummerlein came with a pink cradle, Würfelchen came with a bath brush (similar to the one that came with the Waterfall), and Blubberchen came with a sort of odd red blanket
Related Ponies: Other German exclusives.
Schlummerlein (earth pony) is yellow with fuschia pink
hair and a pink and purple rattle symbol. She stands in Baby Ember's pose and
has purple eyes. She is sometimes mistakenly called Baby Murorachen.
It was a name from years back that people just haven't realized that it was
incorrect. Another nickname is Yellow Pony. This nickname arose as a reference
name since few people knew the actual names.
Schlummerlein is similar in color to Best Friends Baby Katie.
In a grainy photograph with little detail you might be able to confuse the two.

Blubberchen (earth pony) is pinkish-purple with aqua hair and a yellow
duck symbol (outlined in red). She stands in Baby Ember's
pose and has aqua eyes. Her nickname is Pink Pony. This nickname arose
as a reference name since few people knew the actual names. Since her actual
name is known now there is no need for this reference name.

Würfelchen (earth pony) is powder blue with pink hair with three blocks.
The blocks are yellow with dark blue lettering and outlines. Her pink hair often
fades to white. She stands in Baby Blossom's pose
and has purple eyes. Her nickname is Blue Pony. This nickname arose
as a reference name since few people knew the actual names. Since her actual
name is known now there is no need for this reference name. Thanks to

accessories.
These newborns are easily identified by their newborn poses and by
a large symbol with a tiny symbol located close to the larger one. Also,
all three oriiginally have straight hair. They are called Bedtime Newborns because
each symbol reflects the night and early morning, when most newborns are napping.
Each has a fairly brilliant color combination, each color that could be considered
pastel are bright enough to give off a distinct, brighter appearence.
Each came with a single accessory, something common to U. K. and Euros in the
later years. They each came with a solid colored baby bottle.
These were sold in the U. K. and throughout
Europe* (See the main
International page for information on inclusions and exclusions for this).

crescent moon with a orange star next to it. She ha
s
blue eyes and stands in Yo Yo's pose. She came with a single bottle as
her accessory; her bottle is light blue.

Baby Stargaze (Earth pony) is blue with pink hair and a yellow
star with a tiny star next to it. She has pink eyes and stands in with
all four hooves flat. She came with a single bottle as her accessory;
her bottle is pink.

Baby Sunset (Earth pony) is pink with yellow hair and her symbol is a
yellow setting sun with a tiny moon above it. She has pink eyes
and is in Tappy's pose. She came with a single bottle as her accessory;
her bottle is yellow.

The Best Friends are a unique group of Baby
Ponies each coming with a special friend. Each pony has relatively brilliant
body and hair colors and each originally has straight hair.
The friends that came with the baby pony each are reflected on their symbols.
Each animal also has a pony that bears it symbol; for example, Spot is a dog
and Baby Susie has a dog symbol. Each pony has a name that corresponds
with the friend's name. The
friends are actually the same mold as the babies that came with My
Little Puppy, Kitty and Bunny. However, they are not identical
in color scheme to the babies of My Little Puppy, Kitty, and Bunny.
These were sold in the U. K. and throughout
Europe* (See the main
International page for information on inclusions and exclusions for this).
Baby
Susie & Spot. Baby Susie (earth pony) is blue with yellow hair and a
yellow puppy playing with a ball for her symbol. She stands in Baby Ember's
pose (same as Katie above) and has fuchsia purple eyes. Spot (
puppy) is a yellow puppy with blue spots and accents.
Thanks to Heather for use of this photograph.

Baby Billie & Bunny. Baby Billy (earth pony) is
bright pink with purple hair and purple bunny symbol. She has green eyes
and stands in Baby Blossom's pose. She does not have freckles on her nose.
Bunny (rabbit) is purple with a pink tummy and accents.
Thanks to Heather for use of this photograph.

Baby Katie & Kitty. Baby Katie (earth pony) is yellow
with bright pink hair and a pink and yellow
kitty symbol (two pink hearts above kitty). She has periwinkle eyes and
stands in Baby Ember's pose. Kitty (cat) is pink with yellow stripes.
Baby Katie is similar in color to German Baby Schlummerlein.
In a grainy photograph with little detail you might be able to confuse the two.
