Brazilian My Little Ponies
(A-O)

The majority of strange Brazilian poses
were coined in 1983. In the following years they made many ponies that
very closely resembled American
counterparts. They were made in Brazil by Brinquedos Estrela, under the
license of Hasbro. I have not listed the ponies by date. There are
also several ponies made that resemble U. S. ponies nearly identically. You
can tell the difference by the eyes, hoof markings, and hair.
All Brazilian ponies have different accents around the eyes. The symbols
of similar ponies are also often varied. The darkly lined eyes are
common among most all of the Middle American ponies. Also, there may be slight
differences. Brazilian Applejack has dark green stems; whereas, the U. S. Applejack
has light green stems. Also, you will notice over time, the hair
may become brittle and appear dry. This is common among Brazilians.
Oddly, Brazilian is the only Middle American (includes Mexico
to the tip of South America) to not have odd brightly colored variants. Though
there are many pose variations and oddities, these are loosely based upon U.
S. ponies in color and style.
Baby Cuddles (Baby Blossom's Pose) (earth pony) is
aqua blue with pink hair and a pink rattle symbol. She varies from the
non beddy bye eye U. S. version in pose. The NBBE U. S. version was in
Baby Tiddlywink's pose.

Baby Gusty (Earth Pony) is white
with red and green hair and purple leaves. She varies from the U. S. version
in that she is not a unicorn and her pose also varies. The U. S. version is
a Beddy-Bye Eyes version. There is a U. K. and European version that is
non Beddy-Bye Eyed. She has a corresponding Brazilian mother, Gusty.

Baby Lofty (Non Beddy-Bye Eyes version) (Pegasus)
is yellow with a pink hot air balloon. She is a non beddy-bye eyed pony,
unlike the U. S. version.

Baby Tiddlywinks (Baby Ember's Pose) (earth pony)
is pink with pink hair with a white bib symbol. This version is similar
to the U. S. beddy-eyed version, but she is a non-BBE. She varies from
the U. S. non beddy eyed version in pose.

Bowtie (No symbol) (earth pony) is blue with
red hair and white freckles on her cheek. She has no symbol and a shiny
lacquer (pictured left).
Bowtie (Sitting) (earth pony) is aqua green with rainbow hair and pink
bows). She is an odd combination of several U. S. ponies.
Big thanks to Princess Butterbear for this pic.

Bubbles (or Cascade) (earth pony) is yellow with green hair and
no symbol. She has a shiny lacquer. Her colors more closely resemble Cascade
(also they share the same pose). However, it is more likely that she was fashioned
after Bubbles.
Circus
Ponies (earth ponies) resemble the American Collector ponies. I
am not sure about the date of these; however, they are from Brazil and
are called the Circus Ponies. Circus, in this case, translates to Carousel.
They are identifiable in package by the clothing and carousel picture on the
front; they are labeled Circo de Cavalinhos. They resemble Butterscotch,
Minty, Cotton Candy, and Blue Belle.
It would seem, due to the picture of a pony having its hair
braided which is a characteristic of many international ponies made in the 1980's-early
1990's. However, differed hoof
pattern, it could also mean that these are older than the others.
Pictured right: Circus Pony Hoof. These circus ponies hooves differ
from the other hooves.
See the third Brazilian page for more information and photos of these.
Collector
Ponies "Softie Versions"or (Os Fofinhos) (all earth ponies)
are soft ponies about five inches tall with yarn hair. They came as
Butterscotch, Minty, Cotton Candy, and Blue Belle (same as the Circus
Ponies).
Blue Belle (earth pony) is blue with purple hair and purple stars symbol.
She has a blue bow in her mane and on her tail.
Butterscotch (earth pony) is gold with yellow hair with orange
butterflies. She has gold eyes, like the U. S. version. She has
a yellow bow in her mane and on her tail.
Cotton Candy (earth pony) is all pink with a cluster of white dots.
She has a pink bow in her mane and on her tail.
Minty (earth pony) is green with white hair and green shamrocks or
clovers for her symbol. She has a bow in her mane and on her tail.
Gusty in Bowtie's Pose (earth pony) is white
with green and red hair. She has no symbol. In the U. S., Gusty
was a unicorn and stands in a different pose.

Gusty (Collector Pose) (earth pony) is white with
green hair with a red streak. Her symbol is five purple leaves.
She has a corresponding baby, Baby Gusty, who is also an earth
pony in the Brazilian set. In the U. S., Gusty
was a unicorn and stands in a different pose.
Thanks to Jennifer for this photo.

Heart Throb (Yellow Version) (Pegasus) is yellow
with rainbow hair and pink hearts with blue wings. Her symbol has no glitter.

Love Melody (Posey's Pose) (earth
pony) is purple with pink hair and pink hearts strung with ribbon. She
has a shiny lacquer.

Magic Star (Non So Soft) (earth pony) is yellow with
green hair and a pink and green magic wand. She has a shiny lacquer and
is in a rearing position.

Milkyway (Rearing Pose) (earth pony) is pink with
white and blue hair with silver stars. This version is in a rearing pose
and isn't a unicorn.

Northstar (Medley's Pose) (Pegasus) is pink with
purple hair and a blue compass symbol. She varies from the U. S. and International
NSS version of Northstar in her pose.
