Argentinean Ponies (A-L)

Argentinean ponies were made by the Top Toys
company.
Argentina is a South American country; there are several other
South American ponies, Brazilian, Mexican, Peruvian. Several Argentinean
ponies
has one stamp on the hoof, with the copyright date and Hasbro stamped onto
it. Others (usually babies) have Made in Argentina stamped on
the hooves. The versions with Argentina on the hooves, are the later
releases. Argentinean ponies are made of a cheaper
plastic than U. S. versions and are often very brightly colored. There are
tons of variant Argentinean ponies. This is not a complete listing of all
ponies, but of all sets.
A big thanks to Heart Throb (Heart
Throb's My Little Pony Page). Also, thanks to Roberto and to Heidi!!! Alitas (or Summer or Windy Wing
Variants)
The Summer or Windy Wing Variants were
similar to the US versions. Poses are similar and symbols also seem
similar.Alitas wings however, vary in style to the US
versions. They seem to be less intricate than the US versions.Picture above is the variant of Whirly.
Pictured below left is Moonjumper's variant and pictured right is Cool Breeze's
variant.
Baby Rainbow Ponies (Arco Iris)
There are at least three in the Baby
Rainbow Set. However, they all are very similar. They have the same
symbols, but differ in body color. There is a white, green, and pink Arco
Iris baby, which are variants of Baby Starbow.
White Starbow variant (earth pony) is white with rainbow hair and a rainbow
symbol.

Panales)
These are not really that similar to the US Baby
Fancy Pants, except for the painted on diaper. Each Con Panales comes with
several accessories. These babies had brilliant colors and small painted
on diaper with little designs.
An odd fact: Con Panales translates to "with
honeycomb".
Baby Fancy Pants (earth pony) is yellow with
green hair and a white and green diaper.

Baby Fancy Pants (earth pony) is green with pink hair and
a white and diaper with bows and hearts.

Belados
Belados are two interesting ponies that are
variants of Lickety Split. They are similar to the US Sweetberry
Ponies. Each came with a sun comb and a ribbon. Lickety Split variation (earth pony) is green
with orange hair and ice cream cones symbol (white ice cream, orange
cones). She is in Tootsie's pose.
Lickety Split variation (earth pony) is white with red hair and ice cream cones
symbol (red ice cream and orange cones).
Collector Ponies
Interestingly, though most Argentineans are wild variants of original
ponies or never produced ponies, there is a set of collector's ponies that
almost resemble the U. S. Collector Ponies. They have 1982 stamped on one
hooves, Hasbro. Three hooves are blank. They confuse many
collector's, who think they are "No Country" ponies.
Characteristics of these ponies are as follows: no forelocks, hairline
that ends right above the eyes. Some have think lashes (under the eye).Blossom is purple with light lavender
hair with white flowers.
Blue Belle (earth pony) is blue with lavender hair and dark blue stars.

Butterscotch is gold with dark golden hair with orange butterflies
(butterflies spaced out farther than U. S. version). Thanks to Susana
for use of this photograph.

Cotton Candy is all pink with a cluster of white dots.
Minty is green with white hair and green shamrocks or clovers.
Snuzzle is gray with pink hair and pink hearts (hearts spaced out farther
than the U. S. version). Thanks to Susana for use of this
photograph.

that the US versions came with.
Christmas Pony (Felicidades)

toothbrush. First Tooth Baby Pony (earth pony) is pink

First Tooth Baby Pony (earth pony) is blue with yellow

Flutterbye Alternate (aka
Prettybow)
She is yellow with green hair and four blue
butterflies.
The mystery of a pony commonly called Prettybow came about from Dream Valley,
which is where her legend began. To see the picture of Prettybow on Dream
Valley, click
here. Prettybow has resurfaced, but she is actually a Flutterbye
variant.
Reasons I believe she is Argentinean: Firstly, Princess Poohgirl received
her in a lot of Argentineans. Secondly, she has the standard wings that
are apparent with Greek, Argentinean, and Brazilian wings. Thirdly, her
foot matches up with an Argentinean Pony.
A huge thanks to Princess Poohgirl for the
photograph and information, you can visit her site at Poohgirl.net and see other interesting freaks. Also a big thanks to Lady Moondancer
who helped solve the mystery of Prettybow.
