Baby Pony Wear with Pocket Pals

This set of Baby Pony Wear with Pocket Pals are some of the hardest to find Pony Wear items. Only two sets were produced, though some from Year 4 were released again. This Pony Wear came in sets of two and was made specifically for Baby Ponies. A set includes 2 outfits, two pals, and miscellaneous items, like hats and shoes, that go with the outfits. Every outfit comes with a pocket sewn onto it, for a place for the pocket pal to rest. Each pocket pal consists of two pom poms.

These are the only outfits offered for babies, aside from Mother and Baby Pony Wear. Another set of Baby Pony Wear with Pocket Pals were released in Year 4.

Costume Wear

Costume Wear consisted of very unique outfits that are still popular among collectors for their originality. Each came with a particular theme, such as an astronaut, genie, or rock star. The outfits themselves are flashy and shiny for the most part, full of glitz and glam and were not intended for timid ponies. One noteable feature about this set is that several ponies came with clear shoes filled with silver glitter, a very uncommon occurrence in Pony Wear styles.

Pictured on the cards of this set of Pony Wear was the Second Edition of So Soft Ponies. There is an oddity about the cards, though. Twilight is the only one not displayed. In her place is a deep aqua pony, which could possibly have been Angel had another card not depicted Angel (with lighter colors). So, I really can't say who, if any particular pony they were trying to display on this card.

Abra-Ca-Dabra
(genie outfit) blue-green shiny pants, blue-green and gold top with see green trim (sleeves are blue-green and sheer, blue-green sheer veil with gold trim (pictured upside down below), shiny puffy ponytail holder with gold trim, four gold lamé slippers.
The card features Taffy wearing this outfit.

Academy Award
(movie star outfit) silver dress with purple and blue lamé ruffled accents, purple and blue lamé head accessory, 4 clear shoes (sprinkled with silver glitter).
The card features Angel wearing this outfit.

Galaxy Glamour

Note that the jet pack also has silver fringe coming off the bottom of the jet pack, a sort of mock flames. It also comes with a shiny silver ponytail holder and 4 clear shoes (sprinkled with silver glitter).
The card features Hippity Hop wearing this outfit.

In the Center Ring (circus headmaster outfit) shiny silver outfit with gold trim, shiny gold top with ruffle accents, purple plume headband, gold mask, four purple bow shoes.
There is an oddity about who is on this card, a deep aqua pony, which could possibly have been Angel had another card not depicted Angel (with lighter colors). So, I really can't say who, if any particular pony they were trying to display on this card.

Pony-Naut (space outfit) silver lamé space suit with gold accents and a United States flag on the chest, clear space helmet (oblong to fit a pony's head), golden jet pack with gold waist strap, 4 clear shoes (sprinkled with silver glitter).

Pony Packs

The Pony Packs were additional accessories for your ponies.  Each pack had a theme though they are not formally named. Each came with six items, three of which are a comb, ribbon, and shoes. Several of these accessories are unique only to the Pony Packs and weren't really sold with other accessory sets.

These are the only four Pony Packs ever to be sold in stores; they were sold Internationally as well. All cards have the same two ponies depicted on them, Quackers and Tic-Tac-Toe.

"Dress up Set" light blue sunglasses with blue jewel accents, dark pink purse (pink ribbon strap and yellow button), blue diamond ring with blue stone, 4 purple bow shoes, yellow shooting star comb, pink ribbon.
Also note that the purse came with other Pony Wear items as well.

"Princess Set" pink jeweled tiara (varying shades of pink jewels), silver lamé purse with strap, diamond earrings (white earrings with pink jewels and pink dangles), 4 deep pink bow shoes, yellow bird brush, aqua green ribbon.
Also note that the purple and earrings came with other Pony Wear items as well.

"Tennis Set" white visor with crossed pink racket decal, pink racket, 4 adult pink legwarmers, 4 white sneakers, purple butterfly brush, light aqua tail ribbon.
Also note that all these accessories came with other Pony Wear items as well.

"Winter Set"  pink winter hat (boggin) with white trim and a white ball on top, pink purse (pink ribbon strap and yellow button), white beaded necklace, bright pink whale comb, pink tail ribbon, four yellow bow shoes.
Also note that all these accessories came with other Pony Wear items as well.

Pony Wear

Here is the last installment of Pony Wear to be offered. Each outfit was unique and had an intricate theme. All outfits are moderately hard to find today. Some seem to be more common than others, but they are all desirable sets. Some of the easier to find outfits, like Pretty as a Picture and Milk 'n Cookies have small accessories that are not as easy to find as the outfit. A little side note, all the accessories that came with these sets are unique. Hasbro reused some Pony Wear items at times, but they went totally authentic with this Pony Wear. For example, the boggin with Hit the Slopes is not the standard pink it white boggin, it's a new boggin made only for Hit the Slopes.

Get Into the Groove
(80's outfit) dress (blue top with green trim, yellow skirt with green and blue square pattern covering entire skirt), blue stereo (with gold strap), yellow hair clip, four blue ankle socks, four yellow bow shoes.
Of the times: Get into the Groove is an outfit that reflects a style of the 1980's. It hints at a musical theme, and as a side note, Get into the Groove was a popular song by Madonna in the 80's.
No photograph of Get Into the Groove currently available.
The card depicts Moondancer wearing this outfit.
Hit the Slopes (ski outfit) dark pink ski suit (composed of pants and straps that reach around the pony's chest), a purple and pink boggin (with white trim and purple yarn pom pom on top), purple adjoined skis (holds one pony hoof), clear (purple tint) ski glasses (with purple head strap).
The card depicts Cotton Candy wearing this outfit. There are other pink earth ponies but I'm assuming it's Cotton Candy because all the other cards are based on ponies from Year 2.

Milk 'n Cookies (nightgown outfit) white gown with green frogs covering it and yellow trim, white nightcap with green frogs (with yellow trim at bottom), dark yellow blanket, dark yellow pillow, white plate with 3 molded cookies, and white cup.
The card depicts Posey wearing this outfit.

Pony Holiday (casual outfit) yellow and pink floral dress (flowers are pink with green center and dress has pink trim), straw hat with pink trim, yellow suitcase, and four dark pink bow shoes.
The card depicts Surprise wearing this outfit.

Pretty As a Picture (art outfit) white shirt covered in colored paint splotches (with red, yellow, blue, orange, and green paint globs), blue denim pants, round red beret, four red bow shoes, round pallet (with red, yellow, blue, orange, and green paint globs) and paintbrush (red handle and black brush).
The card depicts Bowtie wearing this outfit.

Sidewalk Surfer (80's outfit) very shiny reddish dress (it has an iridescent look, shining green when the light hits it a certain way) with gold belt, red skateboard, red headphones, gold visor, two gold kneepads.
No photograph of Sidewalk Surfer currently available.
The card depicts Applejack wearing this outfit.
