::My Little Pony Fakes::

Y

"My Little Pony" Fake
ou may adoringly hear them called fakes, fakies, or knock-offs.  They are rip-off My Little Ponies that are often strewn in with a lot of real MLP.  They come in all forms, babies, adults, sea ponies, unicorns, Pegasus, etc.  Most collectors wished they did not exist;  some use them for customs and some collect them.  This page is dedicated to those fakie ponies that have definitely modeled themselves after the My Little Pony line.

Adult Pony Fakie is shown right with My Little Pony Parasol for comparison below.

Adult Ponies:

My Little Pony Parasol
They came in various colors such as peach, blue and yellow.  They the MLP eye characteristics and body mold with symbols on the tush.  Every

one of these have hearts for their symbols.  Actual My Little Pony Earth Pony Parasol (Rainbow Pony) is pictured right, for comparison.

Sweetheart Sister Pony:

This one is less common, but a fakie none-the-less.  She has the MLP characteristic sister mold and symbols on the tush.  Her eyes vary from Sweetheart sister eyes.Actual My Little Pony Sweetheart Sister Pony Dainty is pictured right, for comparison.

Flutter Pony Mold Fakie:

This one is a little less obvious, but she definitely has the flutter mold.  No symbols on tush; eyes are different.  She does have symbols on her body.  The body styles kind of look the same to me.  Actual My Little Pony Flutter Pony Forget-Me-Not is pictured right, for comparison.

Generation 2 My Little Pony Fakie:

Help someone has stolen poor Ivy's Identity!!!  Pictured above is a fakie Cutie Pony (click on thumbnail to enlarge).  Someone stole her color, hair color, and almost stole her symbol too!  Poor Ivy!!!Real My Little Pony Ivy is pictured right; she is from 1998 (but was made in various other years from 1997 upward).

Baby Fancy Pants Fakie:

Not nearly as cute as the real Baby Fancy Pants ponies.  This knock off has a little diaper symbol just like the Baby Fancy Pants ponies. Actual My Little Pony Baby Fancy Pants Baby Starburst is pictured right, for comparison.

Dream Beauty Fakie:

This knock off is clearly trying to mimic the Dream Beauty line, yet there are several differences.  New collectors can sometimes be confused as to what is what.  These knock off have symbols and similarities to the Dream Beauties.  Some even have wings like the Highflying Beauty.Actual My Little Pony Dream Beauty Song Rider is pictured right, for comparison.

McDonald's Fakie:

She almost looks like a McDonald's My Little Pony, but if you look closely, she is not.  The third pony from the left and the right (wearing golden saddle) is a fake.  The other ponies are all real McDonald's My Little Pony sold Internationally in 1999.

Merry Go Round Fakie:

Mocking a Merry Go Round pony is a serious offense across at least 6 continents.  She's not nearly as gorgeous as the real thing (pictured right).  At least she has taste, if you going to impersonate, at least do it well.

Sea Pony Fake:

Okay, so this isn't the prettiest sea pony that you have ever seen.  It does mildly, very mildly remind you of some other Sea Pony.  Check out the features--come able hair, curled tail, horse-like face and ears.

Other Fakes:

These aren't really famous for impersonating other ponies, but you will see these in lots with other My Little Pony items frequently.Sunshine Ponies come with a doll.  All are in the same mold (that I've seen).
